Dr Madan Sarma to receive Madhabilata Literary Award at Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: Noted litterateur and former professor and acting Vice-Chancellor of Tezpur University, Dr Madan Sarma has been selected for the prestigious Madhabilata Literary Award for the year 2019 - 2020, stated a press statement issued by Atul Ch. Sharma, the managing trustee of Madhabilata Literary Trust.

Dr Sarma, a prolific writer, critic and author of several books, has been selected for this biennial award for his overall contribution towards Assamese literature, the statement added. The award carries a citation and a memento, besides cash Rs. 10,000. The award will be presented to Dr. Sarma in a special programme to be held at Tinsukia in April. The Madhabilata Literary Trust has been conferring this award biennially to a renowned litterateur of Tinsukia district since 2005.
