ORANG: In accordance with the directives of the Assam State Election Commission, the Udalguri district administration officially released the Draft Photo Electoral Rolls for all 10 council constituencies under the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) jurisdiction in the district. The announcement was made during a press conference held at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Udalguri.

As per the released data, the total number of registered voters in the district stands at 7,43,662, comprising 3,67,856 male voters and 3,75,800 female voters. The number of polling stations has seen a significant increase this year, with 957 total booths, marking a rise of 150 new polling stations compared to the previous election cycle.

Following the publication of the draft rolls, the Election Commission has invited the public to submit claims and objections regarding any errors, omissions, or necessary corrections. This process will be conducted using Form A, B, and C. Form A is for inclusion of names not listed in the draft. Form B is for deletion of names. Form C is for correction of errors in spelling of name or other personal details.

Eligible citizens whose names are not included in the draft as of the qualifying date January 1, 2025, can apply for inclusion using the appropriate form. All such applications must be submitted on or before August 5, and the final corrections and revisions will be completed by August 11. The Final Electoral Roll will be published on August 13, followed by the publication of the final polling station list on August 18.

The district administration assured that all efforts were being made to ensure a transparent, inclusive, and error-free voter list in preparation for the upcoming BTC elections.
