Dreaded criminal arrested in Hailakandi district

HAILAKANDI: Based on a secret tip off, a dreaded criminal named Rohimuddin Laskar (28), was apprehended by Hailakandi district police at a cattle market at Laskar Bazar, Nitainagar under Hailakandi Sadar Police Station at around 4 pm on Sunday.

Son of late Mantaz Ali Laskar of Bondukmara village, Laskar is involved in snatching, bike lifting, cattle theft, kidnapping and other crimes. During body search, a handmade pistol with cartridge was recovered from his possession. Immediately his house was searched and six numbers of keys of two-wheeler and four-wheeler and one tool suspected to be used in stealing motor boat and bike were recovered.

Superintendent of Police, Pabindra Kumar Nath informed that interrogation of the notorious criminal, who is wanted in connection with several cases, is going on.
