Drug peddler held by Sootea police

JAMUGURIHAT: Acting on a tip-off, a team of Sootea police under the leadership of Shyamal Jyoti Saikia, officer in-charge of Sootea police station, managed to apprehend one Fazar Ali, a resident of Balidonga area, on Thursday morning.

According to information, a team of Sootea police, in association with the officer in-charge of Itakhola outpost, Bhaskar Jyoti Saikia and the police team from Itakhola outpost, conducted a search operation in the residence of Fazar Ali and recovered 16 containers filled with heroin and 13 empty containers. The police team apprehended Fazar and brought him to Sootea police station for further investigation.
