Drug trafficker held, heroin seized in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: Acting on a tip-off, Tinsukia Sadar police led by TSI Bhaskar Jyoti Phukan conducted a raid at Hotel Aroma on Tuesday night and nabbed a drug trafficker- Aliyias Answari (33), son of Salim Answari, from Room no 208 and recovered 60 grams of suspected heroine concealed in his Hyundai Xcent car (without number plate) parked within the hotel premises. The consignment packed in 5 soap cases was hidden in the engine and beneath the seat. Hailing from Margherita Dehing Bazar, Answari told police that he brought the drugs from Dimapur in Nagaland for distribution at Margherita and nearby areas.
