Drugs seized, one arrested in Dhubri town

DHUBRI: On the basis of intelligence input that banned drugs were being carried in a Hyundai Verna with registration number AS16B 3273, an operation was launched by Dhubri Sadar Police Station and the vehicle was intercepted soon after it entered Dhubri town on Saturday night. During the operation, 1,400 banned Methamphetamine pills (WY tablets) were recovered from the possession of Saidul Islam (36) of Kokrajhar. Later, the banned drugs and the vehicle were seized. Saidul Islam was taken into police custody. Dhubri Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarter) Trinayan Bhuyan said that Saidul Islam was being interrogated for more information about the illegal drug trade.
