Drugs worth Rs 20 lakh seized by Karbi Anglong police

Karbi Anglong: Acting on a tip-off, Manja police recovered drugs worth Rs 20 lakh in the international from a truck. Police recovered heroin in 25 soap boxes and 300 gms of suspected brown sugar.

The driver of the vehicle, a resident of Barpeta district, has been taken into custody and further interrogation is on.

Deputy SP Nahid Karisma led the team of Manja Police in the anti-narcotics crackdown. A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Last month, Manja Police under the leadership of DSP Karisma had seized drugs worth Rs 5 crore from the Dimapur-Manja road in Karbi Anglong.
