Dry Day Declared on Vijaya Dashami in Udalguri District

Kalaigaon: The Deputy Commissioner cum District Magistrate Dilip Kr. Das has declared Vijaya Dashami as dry day on October 8 in the Udalguri district. In an order issued to this effect on Friday, District Magistrate Dilip Kr. Das declared the closure of all IMFL off and on shops, country spirit shops on October 8 on Vijaya Dashami for maintenance of peace, security, and discipline. Exercising powers conferred under Section 52(I) of the Assam Excise Act, 2000, Das said, “No sale, consumption or possession of any intoxicant should take place on that day. Violation of this order shall be dealt with seriously under the relevant provisions of the Assam Excise Act, 2000.”
