NAGAON: The prestigious Dulal Chandra Goswami Memorial Research Award distribution ceremony was held at Nowgong College (Autonomous) on Friday.
Dr Debabrata Das, Advisor to the Education Department, Government of Assam, attended the event as the chief guest. While addressing the event, Dr Das emphasized that research should not only be for academic purposes but also have social responsibility.
The award distribution ceremony was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Nowgong College and mentored by Professor Dr Bhuvan Chandra Chutia. The award is given to encourage high-quality research, and this year’s recipients of the awards were Priyakshi Manjuri Bhuyan from the Department of Chemistry and Neeraj Bora and Pushpakshi Bora from the Department of Zoology.
Dr Das praised the recipients for their outstanding research and congratulated them on their achievements. He also emphasized the importance of research in society and expressed hope that their works will have significant impacts.
The event included the ceremonial release of a book titled ‘Trends and Issues in Quality of Higher Education in India with Special Reference to North East India,’ edited by Dr Bhuvan Chandra Chutia and Dr Prashanta Khanikar.
The award distribution ceremony was attended by Dr Sarat Dutta, Chairman of the Governing Body of Nowgong College, who congratulated the award recipients. The event was also attended by noted physician Dr Mukut Goswami, the donor of the Dulal Chandra Goswami Memorial Research Award, and his wife, Biva Devi. Dr Goswami expressed his happiness at the college’s initiative and encouraged researchers to strive for excellence.
The event was attended by faculty members, researchers, and students of Nowgong College, as well as distinguished guests from the community.
