Kokrajhar: The Army Recruiting Office, Narangi, conducted a dedicated outreach programme during the Opening Ceremony of the 134th Durand Cup 2025 at the SAI STC Stadium, Kokrajhar, engaging the region’s youth with career opportunities in the Indian Army.
According to a statement from PRO Defence Guwahati, the initiative unfolded before a packed stadium audience, coinciding with one of India’s most celebrated football tournaments. The outreach aimed to inform, inspire, and involve young minds in the nation’s defence services by offering comprehensive insights into various Army entry schemes such as Agniveer, NDA, TES, and CDS. A dedicated Information Centre and interactive displays were set up at the venue, attracting students, aspiring candidates, and local youth, who got the opportunity to interact directly with Army representatives. These sessions provided clarity on eligibility, selection procedures, lifestyle in the armed forces, and the broader mission of the Indian Army.
Army officials highlighted that such initiatives are vital to nation-building, fostering values of discipline, duty, and patriotism. “This is not just about recruitment, it’s about inspiring service with pride and purpose,” stated officials. The Army’s participation added a meaningful layer to the Durand Cup, combining sports enthusiasm with national pride, and sending a powerful message: A career in the Army is more than a job, it’s a calling.
