Durga Puja celebration concludes with the immersion of the idols

MORIGAON: With strict adherence to COVID-19 protocol, the autumnal festival, Durga Puja concluded on Monday with the immersion of the idols of the Goddess.

The akal budhun of Goddess Durga, that is the autumnal worship of the goddess, began with the installation of her idol on the altar on the occasion of Maha Xosthi with the observation traditional rituals. Though devotees visited the puja mandaps to pay their obeisance to the deity, the adverse situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic had dampened the festive spirit. This year, Durga Puja was organized in 15 venues across the district and the immersion of Durga idols was held at Oujari Ghat on Monday.
