Durga Puja celebration with traditional pomp and gaiety in Kalaigaon
Along with the rest of the country, the people of Kalaigaon started to observe the Durga Puja with traditional pomp and gaiety from Monday.

KALAIGAON: Along with the rest of the country, the people of Kalaigaon started to observe the Durga Puja with traditional pomp and gaiety from Monday. The festival is being held at 18 places in greater Kalaigaon area. The Balipara Sarbajanin Pooja Committee started the first day of their celebrations of the festival with a cleanliness drive on the inaugural day on Monday.
A religious seminar on Hindu ideology was also held on Tuesday. The Balipara Sarbajanin Durga Pooja Committee will organize drawing competition, recitation competition and quiz competition on Wednesday and Thursday instead of cultural function in this year due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Moreover, police and paramilitary forces are keeping a close watch to maintain law and order in the areas of Udalguri district. Further, the district administration instructed the puja committees to organize puja maintaining all COVID protocols.
