NAHARKATIA: An e-shram awareness-cum-registration camp was held at Jyoti Bishnu Sanskritik Prokolpo auditorium, Naharkatia on Tuesday. Labour and Employment, Petroleum and Natural Gas minister Rameswar Teli attended the meeting as chief guest. He asked the unorganized workers from the age of 16 to 59 years to register in the e-shram portal. A sum of Rs. 2 lakh will be given as insurance coverage in the event of death of the insured workers and Rs. 1 lakh for partial disability, he added. He asked the workers to register in Arunudoi Kendra or Common Service Centre located in the district. He also assured that more such camps would be held in future. MLA of Naharkatia, Taranga Gogoi also highlighted the need of registration in the e-shram portal as per procedure.

The Deputy Commissioner of Dibrugarh also attended the meeting and urged the workers to get registered in the e-shram portal to get the benefits. Moreover, he also spoke about Mission Basundhara on land application to mutation and other activities in circle offices accordingly within November 30, 2021. The meeting was also attended by trade unions and representatives of Panchayat Raj institutions. The Assistant Labour Commissioner, Dibrugarh, Circle Officer in-charge Naharkatia, BDO Ranjit Buragohain and other officials also attended the meeting.

In the same meeting, 40 workers were registered in the e-shram portal. The minister also distributed Shram cards to the beneficiaries. Moreover, the beneficiaries of Ujjala Scheme were given LPG stoves and cylinders.
