Eat healthy and avoid drugs: Minister Ranjeet Dass

PATHSALA: Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass on Tuesday spoke about the drug abuse issue while attending the inaugural program of a rehabilitation centre in Pathsala town of Bajali subdivision.

He said, ''Drug abuse has become a serious problem in the society. Many people have lost their lives due to addiction. We should always wake up early in the morning, exercise more and eat healthy. People who work out regularly and maintain a healthy life are likely to stay away from alcohol and drugs.”

The minister asserted the importance of leading a healthy life while inaugurating a rehabilitation centre started by Gunajit Medhi. Medhi was an alcoholic but he fought his alcohol addiction and has now opened a centre to rescue other youths from substance abuse.

Gunajit Medhi said, “Excessive alcohol consumption can put you at risk. I don’t want to see other people to ruin their life due to addiction. That is the reason why I decided to start a new journey to rescue other people.” “Tight security and highly-skilled physicians have been arranged at the centre,” he added.
