Educationist couple Dr. Khagendra Kumar Nath and wife donate Rs 2 lakh to CM's Relief Fund

MANGALDAI: Expressing their solidarity with the flood-affected people of the State in this hour of crisis and extending a positive response to the appeal made by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Principal of Mangaldai College, Dr. Khagendra Kumar Nath and his wife, who is also a Professor of Mangaldai College, Dr. Pratibha Deka on Monday donated an amount of Rs 2 lakh to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

Principal Dr. Nath, in a simple function organized at the college campus, handed over two cheques of Rs 1 lakh each to Mangaldai legislator Guru Jyoti Das. "As a humble citizen of the State, I consider it as my personal duty and responsibility to extend all support to the State Government as the flood has taken a very devastating turn and I request all like-minded persons to extend their help and cooperation to the State Government," said Principal Dr. Nath while talking to The Sentinel.

Legislator Guru Jyoti Das highly appreciated the spirit and the benevolence of Dr Nath and his wife and said that though the Darrang district had also been severely affected by flood, yet the couple had given a glaring example of solidarity. Director of Brilliant Academy of Mangaldai, Writtick Choudhury also donated an amount to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund and handed it over to legislator Guru Jyoti Das.
