Eight containment zones declared and sealed in Biswanath district

BISWANATH CHARIALI: In view of the fact that some people in several areas of Bishwanath district have been infected with COVID-19 and in order to prevent further transmission of COVID-19 in the district, eight zones of the district have been declared as containment zone and the areas have already been sealed

The containment zones are- the house of Achyut Bhuyan, Kochgaon, the house of Manasjyoti Sharma, the house of Bijay Gohain, Hatkhola, the houses of Someswar Kurmi and Gautam Kurmi of No 2 Borpathar, the house of Ramesh Sahani of Chatiya Karoiyani, the house of Basanta Hazarika of Chatiya Barabhuyan, the house of Rinamani Borah of Nij Chatiya and the house area of Ridhima Chahu of No 2 Itakhola under Nagshankar mouza of the district.

In accordance with the order issued by the Bishwanath District Magistrate under the Assam Covid-19 Rules, 2020, the entry and exit of any person without the permission of the administration in these restricted areas is prohibited and the movement of any person and vehicle is also banned. During this time it is mandatory to maintain social distancing in the restricted areas and to follow the other protocols of COVID-19. These rules will remain in force until the area is declared safe under the regulations of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Violators of this order will be prosecuted under the Assam COVID-19 Rules 2020, Disaster Mitigation Act 2005, Epidemic Prevention Act 1897 and other laws. Meanwhile, the order that declared 10 other areas as containment zones earlier, was withdrawn on Tuesday as the affected people in those areas recovered from COVID-19.
