‘Empowerment of Women Important for Change in Society’- Rajib Brahma

Kokrajhar: A public meeting on Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM) was organized by Sanjok Area Level Federation in association with the Cooperative Society, Kokrajhar on Wednesday at Amala Bhavan in Kokrajhar town. More than 500 members of different self-help groups of ward no. 1 participated in this programme. BTC EMs Rajib Brahma and Doneswar Goyary, along with Circle Officer of Kokrajhar Revenue Circle, Dipen Barman and officers of Cooperative Society graced the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, the EM of BTC, Rajib Brahma said the council had been working for the growth and empowerment of women. He said the women could play a vital role in the society for a change. The women participate in livelihood management in their homes and they shoulder equal responsibility for earning, he said, adding that women were partners of the sustainable rural economy. He also said the council was giving equal opportunity to women and SHGs were being provided incentives for economic development and sustaining their activities. BTC EM Doneswar Goyary emphasized empowerment of women in the society for effective changes.
