In her suicide note, the engineer claimed that coworkers had pressured him to pay "fraudulent bills." Two of her senior officials were implicated by the woman in aiding and abetting suicide.

The engineer vehemently claimed in a handwritten message that she had been under a great deal of mental stress as a result of ongoing pressure from two top officials who reportedly made her accept billing for unfinished work.

"I am taking this step due to extreme stress from my work. There is no one to guide me in the office. I am tired and have nowhere to go. My parents are worried for me," the suicide note clearly states.

The woman's family filed a First Information Report (FIR) and formally complained to the police. According to police sources, Aminul Islam, a Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) currently assigned in Bongaigaon, and Dinesh Medhi Sharma, a recently promoted Superintendent Engineer who formerly worked as Executive Engineer in Bongaigaon, have been arrested for aiding and abetting the suicide based on the suicide note.
Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, has demanded a thorough probe.

"We are investigating all aspects. The building concerned, on which the alleged bills were made, will be probed. We will reassess the work costing," said the police.
