EnglishHelper & Schoolnet introduce Technology for English in Assam Schools!

Guwahati: EnglishHelper, an education technology company led by Sanjay Gupta, Chief Executive Officer (Global), former Chairman, American Express India has partnered with Schoolnet India Ltd to introduce AI technology for learning English in nearly 1000 schools in Assam across 25 districts reaching 4.5 lakh students.

The company has implemented its 'RightToRead' initiative across thousands of government schools in India and is expected to achieve a footprint of 100,000 schools once schools re-open.

The RightToRead program enables the reading of English textbooks in a classroom supported by multi-sensory AI software – ReadToMe®.

After a very successful USAID supported pilot program that spread across 8 states (5000 schools) covering one million students, EnglishHelper and Schoolnet have established a strategic partnership to promote the program across the country.

Meanwhile, to ensure continuity of English learning for government school students, ReadToMe Student Edition has now been made available on Google Playstore since May 2020.

This app enables students across the country to read NCERT English textbooks supported by multisensory reading and comprehension technology. The launch of this app makes it easy for students to continue their curriculum based English lessons despite the closure of schools and tuition centers.

Students can now download the app onto any Android device and read their grade specific textbooks with the help of the multi-sensory AI software. This app can help nearly 10 crore government school students across the country continue their curriculum aligned English learning even while schools are closed.

In Assam and the North East, it is estimated lakhs of students can benefit from ReadToMe Student Edition. Assessments confirm students improve English reading and comprehension by more than 50% from consistent exposure to this method of learning.

The deployment of the AI technology for English in thousands of government schools supported by the same app available to students for self-study at home creates a tech-enabled learning model at a scale that signals a transformative opportunity for large scale change across the North East.
