Eviction drive to be launched against alleged illegal migrants at Langkaijan Area of Karbi Anglong

Diphu: A team of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC ) led by CEM KAAC Tuliram Ronghang, Speaker of KAAC Longki Timung along with several EMs of KAAC at the Langkai Festival on Thursday stated for an immediate eviction drive at Langkaijan within next two months.

As per reports, the area of Langkaijan area had been allegedly encroached by suspected migrants from the neighbouring country Bangladesh.

Addressing the gathering at the Langkai Festival, CEM KAAC Tuliram Ronghang said, "An eviction drive will be carried out soon in Langkaijan area. Not a single inch of land will be allowed to encroached by the suspected illegal migrants from Bangladesh. They will be asked to vacate the lands soon."

CEM Ronghang also confirmed to set up a Medical Sub-Centre in Lankaijan area.

Also, In-charge of Medical Department Khonsing Rongpi extended his keen desire to support the initiative as proposed by CEM of KAAC.

CEM Ronghang in his speech also announced for 100 numbers of RCC Ring well installation in the Inghan Adong Area ( Langkaijan) with the availabilities of Potable drinking water facilities. He further highlighted the fact that New Earthen Works at Tari Adong Hemari Hanse Arong was inaugurated for better transport facility and communication for the greater interest of the people living in Inghan Adong of Langkaijan and also for the adjoining villages.

It may also be mentioned that KAAC is striving relentlessly to issue land pattas soon to the people living in border areas to safeguard the land of the indigenous Karbi people.

In order to bring the Inghan Adong Area, (Langkaijan) into a better Connectivity zone, more focus will be given to the develop Educational facilities in the remotest areas. Thus, Infrastructure development work will be carried out for setting up of schools.

Furthermore, local people of Langkaijan earlier submitted a memorandum to CEM Ronghang for executing Land Developmental Work in proper sites of the region.
