Guwahati: Simanta Thakuria, the Ex-AASU (All Assam Students' Union) leader condemned the new political alliance between AASU and AJYCP (Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad). During a press meet on Sunday, Thjakuria said that there was no discussion regarding the forming of this new alliance. The former state executive of AASU, Thakuria has recently resigned from the union.

He has accused the present President of AASU, Dipanka Kumar Nath of trying to run a dictatorship in the union, and hence, violating the constitution.

Thakuria has accused Nath of mentally torturing Sammujjal Bhattacharya, the Chief Advisor of AASU and Bipul Rabha. According to Thakuria, Nath along with the General Secretary of AASU used the CAA movement as a political tool.

The AASU and AJYCP formed their new alliance last month, "Assam Jatiya Parishad," with the slogan "Assam first, always and ever."
