KOKRAJHAR: Former deputy chief of BTC, Kampa Borgoyary on Monday said that he was confident of making a comeback by winning from the Chirang Duar constituency.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a campaign meeting at Gasagaon in Chirang district, Borgoyary said that he was confident of winning from the constituency as people of all communities were supporting the Bodoland People's Front (BPF). He said that there were 55,000 voters in his constituency and of these, 32,000 voters were Bodos. Former deputy chief of BTC, Kampa Borgoyary on Monday said that he was confident of making a comeback by winning from the Chirang Duar constituency.e said that if the Bodo votes got divided, he would get at least 19,000 Bodo votes and the other communities like Adivasis, Sutradhars and Nepalis would vote for BPF. He also said the BPF would undoubtedly return to power.

Borgoyary said in the last 17 years, the BPF had brought a lot of development in all spheres, be it education, health, road communication and other infrastructure. He also said that the BPF was a champion of equal privileges to all communities.

On the question of according ST status to six communities, Borgoyary said the BPF did not oppose the inclusion of six communities in ST list but said that they wanted that the rights and privileges of the existing ST communities must not be hampered.

When asked if the mass joining of United Bodo People's Organization (UBPO) leaders and members to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would affect the BPF, Borgoyary said that the UBPO was a non-political organization and was operating only outside BTC while BPF was a strong regional political party of BTC.

On the inclusion of Bodo villages of Sonitpur and Biswanath to BTR, he said that it was up to the people of those districts where they wanted to be included.
