Ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh paid to slain Sourov Das' family in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: A team comprising MLA of Moran, Chakradhar Gogoi, Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha, vice-chairman of Assam State Housing Board, Subash Dutta and Additional Deputy Commissioner Ranjit Konwar on Tuesday visited slain Sourov Das' residence at Lezai Dewanbari and handed over the sanction letter of a sum of Rs 5 lakh as an ex-gratia payment to his deceased parents. Conveying their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family of Das, they called upon the local people to put joint efforts to bring back peace and tranquillity in the area. The team assured the people that the administration would take all necessary steps for proper investigation and punish all those involved in the heinous crime.
