Ex-gratia of Rs. 5 Lakh to kin of Raben Das, announces CM Sonowal

Das died following drowning during an operation to nab cow smugglers along Indo-Bangla border.

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday condoled the death of Police constable Raben Das of 26th AP IR B, who lost his life following drowning during an operation to nab cow smugglers along Indo-Bangla border at Mankachar Police Station area in South Salmara district.

Expressing his empathy towards the bereaved family, Sonowal announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 5 lakh to the kin of the deceased constable.

The Chief Minister also asked Chandra Mohan Patowary, Industry and Commerce Minister to visit and empathize with the bereaved family. He further directed the district and police administration to show adequate honor to late constable Das.
