Excise Department conducted Raids in Dibrugarh Areas

Dibrugarh: Trailing on a report published in a section of the press related to the production of illicit liquor and its sale in certain areas of Khowang and its nearby areas, the Excise Department conducted extensive raids at Baktoli, Bokahola, Haldibari Konwar Gaon, Chtia Gaon and Kotoky Pukuri areas on October 12 and October 13. During the raids, the excise department seized all total 180 litres of sulai (country-made liquor) and 10 kg pachowa, a kind of ingredient needed for production of illicit liquor. The excise team during the raids also seized a number of utensils and other equipment usually used for illicit liquor production. The department registered seven cases in this regard.
