Excise raid conducted in Tinsukia, one arrested

TINSUKIA: A joint team of Margherita and Digboi excise officials conducted raid at Bordumsa Bazar, Pengeree Chariali within the Digboi Excise Circle on Saturday and arrested one person identified as Sanjay Nayak of Pengeree Chariali.

During the raid, the officials seized 7.80 litres of beer, 15.915 litres of IMFL (marked for sale in Assam only) and 23.565 litres of IMFL (marked for sale in Arunachal Pradesh) and a case was registered under the Assam Excise Act, 2018.The operation was led Satyam Priyom, Inspector of Excise, Digboi and Anuwar Hussain, Assistant Excise Inspector, Margherita under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Excise, Prasanta Dutta.
