KOKRAJHAR: As part of the 400th birth anniversary celebrations of Bir Lachit Barphukan, the Kokrajhar district administration on Tuesday organized an exhibition on Bir Lachit Barphukan at the Deputy Commissioner's office premises, Kokrajhar.
The programme was inaugurated by Prof Laishram Ladu Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Bodoland University. He addressed the gathering on Lachit Barphukan and his legacy. Deputy Commissioner of Kokrajhar, Varnali Deka also spoke on the occasion. She urged the students present at the venue to make full use of the opportunity provided by the exhibition which showcases the entire life of Bir Lachit Borphukan and the Ahoms of that time.
Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Gossaigaon, Aranyak Hazarika, also spoke on the occasion. A large number of students from the various schools of Kokrajhar, teachers and officials of different offices enjoyed the exhibition.
