Expenditure Observer holds meetings in Morigaon

MORIGAON: The Expenditure Observer to the three assembly constituencies of Morigaon, Satya Brata, IRS, arrived in Morigaon on March 5. He called on Leena Das, District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner. The Nodal Officer of the Expenditure Monitoring Cell, Punam Rao Borah, DDC, apprised the Expenditure Observer of the steps taken so far in relation to the working of the Expenditure Monitoring Cell and the enforcement machineries. Thereafter, the Election Observer, in the presence of the District Election Officer, the Nodal Officer of Expenditure Monitoring Cell and other officials, inaugurated the mascot of Morigaon district which is called 'Rhino Sweep'. The mascot aims to encourage people to participate in voting with an aim to register 100 per cent turnout.

The Expenditure Observer then held a series of detailed meetings with the Assistant Expenditure Observer, Accounting Teams and Video Viewing Teams. He directed the accounting team and video viewing teams to keep their eyes and ears open while performing their duties so that even the minute details of expenditure as seen in the video CDs, were properly reflected in the records. He also held meetings with the Circle Officers and Executive Magistrate to take stock of the working of the Flying Squad, State Surveillance Teams and Video Surveillance Teams. Later, he visited the Circle Officers of the three LACs and also the places where the Static Surveillance Teams are deployed, namely Kushtoli Tiniali, Goroimari Chariali and Mayong. He also instructed the Circle Officers to identify strategic locations in collaboration with the police officials.
