BARPETA: The COVID situation is turning serious day by day and the crisis of oxygen in Delhi, Maharashtra is alarming.

Meanwhile, in Assam, the Health Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has stated that till May 10 there will not be any crisis of oxygen. At Barpeta's Fakharudfin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital (FAAMCH), among the other 6 medical colleges of Assam, there will not be any oxygen crisis till one month.

Superintendent of FAAMCH Dr Diganta Sarma stated that to date a total of 60 patients are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

There is also an oxygen generation plant in the medical college. Again every patient has been provided with an oxygen concentrator. There is a 20,000-litre oxygen (LMO) tank. There are sufficient oxygen cylinders in the medical college, stated the doctor. In the ICU and ventilator, there are 15 and 12 beds respectively, and in SARI (Severe Acute Respiratory Infections) ward there are 23 beds. Hence for one month, the people of Barpeta doesn't have to panic about the oxygen crisis, the doctor added.
