Fake Aadhaar racket: Gujarat police arrest Karimganj youth

SILCHAR: The Gujarat police finally arrested a youth from the Karimganj district for his alleged involvement in a fake Aadhaar card racket helping Bangladeshi Rohingiyas. The youth, identified as Amirul Haque, was a resident of Nilambajar.

The Gujarat police took him to Ahmedabad on Saturday night for interrogation. The Gujarat police recently busted a fake Aadhaar card racket and picked up some fraudsters. During the interrogation, the police came to know that the racket had its net spread over the bordering district of Assam. A team of Gujarat police arrived at Karimganj almost three weeks ago and started to track Amirul. However, their first attempt did not succeed, and the team went back to Gujarat. Last week, the team came back again and finally nabbed Amirul from a hotel. The sleuths were in civil dress, and they zeroed in on Amirul in a smooth way. The Gujarat team took the alleged fraudster to Karimgan police station first, and after all formalities, they took Amirul with them to Ahmedabad. Amirul allegedly made forged Aadhaar cards for Bangladeshi Rohingyas.
