Fake news on Baghjan clarified by Tinsukia District Administration

TINSUKIA: The Tinsukia District Administration while reacting to a fake news being circulated in some electronic and web media that the fire at Bhagjan Oil Well has spread to some neighbouring farm lands and has created panic and havoc in the region, clarified that the purported news was completely false and the said fire has occurred in a farmland near the Maguri Matapung Beel, approximately 1.5 to 2 km away from the blazing Baghjan oil well, and the fire was lit purposefully to clear the farmland from bushes as reported by the officials of the District Administration and Police who were present at the site and monitoring the situation. The Administration has appealed to all people not to fall to such false news and to maintain tranquillity and law and order in the region.
