Felicitation programme organized by Sootea Press Club

JAMUGURIHAT: Ananda Handique and Anjan Baskota, two members of Sootea Press Club were felicitated in a meeting organized by Sootea Press Club at Magurmari to the north of Sootea with Pranab Ojha, president of Sootea Press Club in the chair on Saturday. Ananda Handique, founder headmaster of Uttar Sootea HS and a member of Sootea Press Club was awarded the best teachers' award by Biswanath district administration on September 5 this year. Similarly, Anjan Baskota, member of Sootea Press Club was awarded Yuva Puraskar 2020 by Sahitya Akademi recently.

Both the executive members were felicitated with a citation, gamocha and a packet of books each by the members of the press club. Hemanga Hazarika, secretary of the press club briefed the objectives and while Ratul Bhuyan, senior member of Sootea press club conducted the felicitation programme. Pranab Ojha, Uttam Kumar Nath, Anjan Gadgeng Saikia, Ratul Bhuyan, Pawan Kumar Joshi, Hemanga Hazarika, Tridip Bhuyan and Chinmoy Saikia addressed the occasion and conveyed best wishes to the awardees. Both the awardees Ananda Handique and Anjan Baskota addressed the gathering.
