Fierce Gun Battle broke out at Kaziranga, No casualties reported

Kaziranga: A fierce gun battle broke out today evening between the forest guard officials and suspected rhino poachers in Gohpur Kaziranga's sixth addition of Gopal Jaroni Bonoria Tapu.

As per sources, Forest guard based on secret information regarding the movement of few suspected rhino poachers in the forest zone laid an ambush in the area, following which the suspected poachers retaliated and a gun battle ensued between the two sides. So far no casualties have been reported during the operation.

Sources also informed that the suspected rhino poachers taking the opportunity of the darkness managed to escape from the spot.

The forest officials recovered three live rounds of cartridges along with other objectionable items from the spot.

Furthermore, the forest guards are on continuing with their operation against the poachers in Jobore Chapori, Bonoria Tapu and Gopal Jaroni including other adjacent areas.
