Financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh offered to 'Pothar Konya' Nabanita Das

MANGALDAI: City-based Shil Bepari Kalyan Santha- the apex organization of the industrialists involved in the stone crushing industry in and around Guwahati, to express solidarity with 'Pothar Konya' Nabanita Das of Jorhat-the Government of India sponsored 'National Best Lady Farmer' award recipient - and to encourage and inspire the rural farmers of the State , on Monday offered an amount of Rs 1 lakh.

Shil Bepari Kalyan Santha, in association with Seuji Asom- an organization of the progressive and ideal farmers of the State - offered the financial assistance to Nabanita Das at a function organized at Lalmati Durga Mandir near Game Village in Guwahati.

Office bearers of the Shil Bepari Kalyan Santha, namely president Lachit Boro, secretary Giri Kanta Mahanta and advisers Shyam Lal Agarwalla and Dinesh Sarma ceremonially handed over the amount to Nabanita Das.

Taking part in the function as the chief guest, retired Additional Director of Industries and Commerce and Special Executive Officer of Assam Food and Civil Supplies Corporation (AFCSC), Prafulla Saikia highly appreciated the spirit of the office bearers of the Santha

and said that though they were in no way connected to agriculture, yet their initiative in extending a helping hand to Nabanita Das would be a glaring instance of encouragement and inspiration to the rural farmers of the State. He also thanked the office bearers of 'Seuji Asom' for motivating the office bearers of 'Shil Bepari Kalyan Santha'.

Acknowledging the benevolence of the organizers, 'Pothar Konya' Nabanita Das expressed her deep gratitude and said that she would purchase a power tiller with this money. Secretary of Seuji Asom, Kushal Deka, AASU activist Khanindra Rajbongshi, women activist Miron Devi, COVID-19 winner journalist Ganesh Dutta and office bearers of Lalmati Durga Mandir Committee also attended the function.
