Firing at Assam-Nagaland border, 3 arrested by Police
An incident of firing has taken place at Madhupur area in Uriamghat along Assam-Nagaland border under Golaghat district on Friday.

SARUPATHAR: An incident of firing has taken place at Madhupur area in Uriamghat along Assam-Nagaland border under Golaghat district on Friday. The police team led by the OC of Uriamghat police station rushed to the spot along with DAB Sector "C" Commander.
One accused identified as Sahanur Ali was taken into police custody and another accused namely Hamid Ali was injured in the firing. The initial inquiry suggested that the firing incident occurred as a result of a tussle between two stone quarry parties for a stone quarry location, having conflicting claims. The owners of the parties were Hamid Ali and Sahanur Ali.
However, in the incident, two persons namely Hamid Ali and other Anowar Hussain (aide of Sahanur Ali ) got bullet injuries and was taken to the Sarupathar CHC civil hospital for treatment. Later Hamid was referred to Jorhat for better treatment.
In the course of investigation with human and technological input soon breakthrough was received regarding the weapon used in the incident. The police team led by Trinayan Bhuyan SDPO Dhansiri Subdivision recovered the weapon .22 pistol and two blank cartridges from the house of Anowar's brother located at Saklasung, a Naga village at Assam-Nagaland border. In this connection a total of three accused Anowar Hussain, Hamid Ali & Sahanur Ali were arrested.
