First Annual Session of Contractors’ Association held at Dhubri

DHUBRI: The first annual session of the Dhubri District Water Resources Contractors’ Association (DDWRCA) was held in Dhubri recently under the presidentship of the president of the association, Biswajit Kalita.

In the session, various problems being faced by contractors, including forest royalty, e-tendering, and rate were discussed and resolutions were adopted. It was resolved that the contractors who are registered under the Dhubri Division Water Resource Department and also deposit 10 percent and are below the Rs. 3 crore group, should only be allowed to take part in the tender and appealed to the department not to allow outside contractors for bidding tender in the Dhubri division.

The association also urged upon the department to continue the ongoing Flood Management Programme (FMP) under Dhubri Division which started 2014-15 and all the works were nearing completion. “State and central share of 75 percent have already been received by the contractors and work done under FMP have proved to be good,” said secretary of the association, Santosh Kumar Saha.
