Fit India Movement Programme Launched Across State

Bongaigaon: Along with other parts of the country, Fit India Movement was also launched in Chirang district following its launch in New Delhi by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. Initiating the programme with a welcome address, the Inspector of Schools, Chirang, Jaypalsing Brahma outlined the key features of Fit India Movement and its importance to build a healthy nation.

The gathering witnessed the launch programme of Fit India Movement by the Prime Minister through live streaming and took pledge on the subject in Bodo language as administered by the Assistant Commissioner, Ringkhang Mushahary and in Assamese language as administered by Assistant Commissioner Partha Pratim Baruah. The programme, which was held in the auditorium of Kajalgaon High School, was attended by Assistant Commissioners, Chirang, Ringkhang Mushahary and Partha Pratim Baruah, Inspector of Schools Jaypalsing Brahma, DIPRO Gagan Narzary, other dignitaries, teachers and students.

Hailakandi: Along with the rest of the country, Fit India Movement was observed in south Assam’s Hailakandi district on Thursday. At a programme organized by the district administration in association with District Sports Officer and District Information and Public Relations Officer at Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall, Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli administered the pledge to sportspersons, sports enthusiasts and school students to remain physically fit and active in order to contribute to nation building. Jalli said that through sports one can build a healthy nation.

The campaign is aimed at encouraging people to include physical activity and sports in their everyday lives. A giant screen was put up to watch live Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address on the launching of Fit India Movement in New Delhi.

The event was organized in several schools across the district where students took the pledge on the occasion. Inspector of Schools, Rajiv Kumar Jha urged the students to take to sports and games in a big way to remain physically fit and healthy and to turn it into a mass movement at a programme held at Graham MV School. Students watched with rapt attention to Prime Minister’s address before taking the pledge.

Gossaigaon: Gossaigaon BEEO-cum-BMC Amar Singh Brahma launched the Fit India Movement in Gossaigaon sub-division at the Gossaigaon BEEO-cum-BMC office premises at Habrubil in Kokrajhar district. Hundreds of students along with teachers and other officials participated in the programme. During the event, BEEO Brahma also administered a fitness pledge to the people of the sub-division. The aim of the Fit India movement is to encourage people to prioritize sports and fitness in their daily lives.

Kokrajhar: Along with other parts of the country, Fit India Movement was also launched in Kokrajhar district. In Kokrajhar Girls’ HS School, the district administration, in collaboration with Siksha Abhijan, organized the Fit India Movement where Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner PP Mazumdar inaugurated the programme. He called upon all to stay fit and strong in order to build a strong India. The programme was also attended by DSO and CHD, Sports, BTC, Jajnabati Basumatary. On the other hand, the officers and other office staff of BTC Secretariat also observed the Fit India Movement. They pledged for stay fit.

LAKHIMPUR: Along with the rest of the nation, the Fit India Movement was launched in Lakhimpur on Thursday.

The campaign is aimed at encouraging people to include physical activity and sports in their everyday life to remain physically fit and active in order to contribute to nation building. The central programme of the district on this occasion was organized at North Lakhimpur Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School under the aegis of the district administration, Rastiya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Sarba Siksha Abhiyan (SSA).

Eminent yoga practitioners of Lakhimpur, Gitacharya Purandar Baruah and Azad Hazarika graced the occasion as resource persons. Lakhimpur ADC Dipankar Das, a galaxy of eminent personalities of the district, students of schools and colleges, several officers of the district administration along with common people were present in the programme.

The national programme of launching the campaign by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, held in New Delhi, was live telecast in the event.
