Five KPLT (anti-talk) leaders apprehended at Umrangso by by Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao Police

Haflong: In a joint operation by Karbi Anglong Police and Dima Hasao Police, five anti-talk KPLT leaders, including its general secretary and finance secretary, were apprehended at Umrangso in Dima Hasao, police sources informed.

They have been identified as Rongbin Ejang alias Mensing Kramsa (finance secretary) of village Bibia Kro gaon, Bester Hanse (general secretary) of village Sarthi Teron Gaon, Jiten Kro, son of Joysing Kro of village Jaipong Lakhanbey gaon, Hetsing Phangcho, son of Pator Phangcho of village Jaipong Bey Gaon and Mithius Rongpi, son of Basa Rongpi of village Choto Langlai.

Though the police in the interest of further investigation are not willing to divulge details, it has been learnt that they were active in the Tin Kilo area of Umrangso and other bordering areas. They intended to carry out subversive activities in the area. Police informed that Jiten Kro, Hetsing Phangcho and Mithius Rongpi were picked up from Umrangso market while Rongbin Ejang alias Mensing Kramsa from Tin Kilo Assam quarry and Bester Hanse was picked up from 19 km near Umrangso. Police also informed that investigation was going on by both police teams of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao and they expected to find out their modus operandi very soon.
