Flood affected people rescued by BSF Jawans near Assam-Bengal Border

Dhubri: Troops of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force rescued 05 people of border village Berakhawa who were capsized and submerged into the water in the midst of river Brahmaputra, on 22 nd July 2019, in the bordering area of Mahamaya Char under Dhubri District in Assam.

BSF troops of Border Out Post (BOP) Mahamaya Char are deployed in District Dhubri (Assam) under BSF Guwahati Frontier and dominating the International border area. On 22 nd July 2019 at about 1310 hrs, 05 villagers including a minor were on a chappu boat coming from village Bamandanga to village Berakhawa under Dhubri District (Assam).

Unfortunately, at the midst of river Brahmaputra, their chapu boat capsized and submerged into water. The Observation Post party of BOP Mahamaya Char witnessed the incident and BSF Jawan rush to the spot on a speed boat and rescued all the 05 villagers saved their life.

The details of 05 villagers are: 1) Munaf Ali (55 yrs) 2) Lal Chand Ali (40 yrs) 3) Sona Moham (12 yrs) 4) Yaseen (08 yrs) 4) Alik Chand (45 yrs).

All are R/o village Berakhawa under PS Shukhchar, Dhubri District (Assam) The border people appreciated the work of BSF. Border Security Force is dedicated for the security of Border of India as well as protection of border population.

It may be mentioned that BSF Jawans work with utmost devotion and exemplary alertness while performing duties in an extremely difficult working environment in both the Eastern & Western Theatre.
