Pathsala: The recent flood in Assam has caused massive destruction in many areas of the State, including death of humans and livestock. Districts like Bajali and Barpeta perhaps witnessed the most devastation due to flood in the month of June. Hundreds of people lost their lives, countless houses were washed away and a large number of schools remain inundated for many days.
Debara High School, under Sarukhetri LAC of Barpeta, is among the worst-hit schools. The feeble walls and the floors of the school are enough to display the devastating picture of the floods.
The Headmaster of the school, Dipak Ch. Barman with a heavy heart informed that, "As the school remained inundated, we have lost several important documents of the school. Computers, generator, motor pump, sports equipment, tables and chairs have been damaged."
