DHUBRI: In a unique and thoughtful initiative, an ardent social worker Dipankar Majumdar of Dhubri drew public attention by promoting road safety by tying fluorescent ribbons on the necks of stray cattle on the roads of Dhubri town on Wednesday night.
Talking to The Sentinel, Dipankar Majumdar said that the purpose of this campaign was to reduce accidents caused by stray cattle on roads and to remind car drivers and bike riders to stay alert.
By using bright, visible ribbons on the cows, we have emphasized that road safety is not only for humans but also for animals who share the road space, Majumdar added.
This innovative approach has been appreciated by passersby and drivers who welcomed the gesture, noting that such awareness efforts can significantly reduce road mishaps and encourage more responsible driving behaviour.
Dipankar Majumdar’s effort is a symbol of compassion, responsibility, and commitment towards building a safer society, not just for people, but for all living beings.
