DIBRUGARH: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that taking Swargadeo Chaolung Siu Ka Pha's universal principle, there should be concerted efforts to make Assam one of the strongest in the world. The BJP-led government, immediately after coming to power, took a series of steps based on the universal principle of Chaolung Siu Ka Pha to make a stronger Assam taking all major and minor communities of the State on board. Sonowal said these at the 10th biennial general conference of All Tai Ahom Students' Union held at Gadadhar Singha Sammanaya Kshetra at Duliajan on Sunday, stated a press release.

Chief Minister Sonowal said that the All Tai Ahom Students' Union since its inception had been working by following the ideology of Chaolung Siu Ka Pha to strengthen the harmonious co-existence of all sections of the people of the State. He, on the occasion, urged upon everybody to follow the teachings of Siu Ka Pha to make Assam stronger culturally, socially and economically. He also said that though the people of Assam were facing several challenges, the teachings of Swargadeo Chaolung Siu Ka Pha had enabled the State to overcome all the challenges to re-strengthen the cordial bond existing among the people of all sections. Similarly, he said that Srimanta Sankaradeva also contributed immensely to make the Assamese society stronger socially, culturally and spiritually. Sonowal expressed his gratitude to the All Tai Ahom Students' Union for organizing the conference at a remote place and enabling people to converge at a place.

Sonowal said that the present State Government had taken steps to honour the great personalities of all the major and minor communities in recognition of their crucial role. He also requested ATASU to take a lead to make the State stronger on all sectors. He also informed that his government had already released fund for the construction of Memorial Kshetra at Charaideo Hills in the memory of 42 Ahom Swargadeo. He also said that a seat had been created at Dibrugarh University in the name of Siu Ka Pha.

MLA Teresh Goala, president of All Tai Ahom Students' Union central committee, Litul Buragohain, Deputy Commissioner Pallab Gopal Jha, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
