Food safety awareness campaign by Lakhimpur units of Manab Adhikar Sangram Samiti

LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur district units of Manab Adhikar Sangram Samiti (MASS) and All Assam Hindu Youth Council (AAHYC) have continued their week-long Food Safety Awareness Campaign in North Lakhimpur town from Friday.
By initiating the programme, the activists of the organizations have attempted to make an awareness against adulterated and unsafe food products which are unabatedly sold in the markets of the district. On Friday, the programme was launched with a street meeting at Lakhimpur Girls’ Higher Secondary Chariali. It was followed by an awareness campaign rally with the participation of the activists of the organizations. The rally was flagged off by MASS central committee executive member Baikuntha Hazarika and Lakhimpur unit AAHYC president Dipanjal Sonowal. Initiating the rally, the activists of the organizations made the people aware of adulterated and unsafe food products and its impact upon human health. Such moves will continue throughout the week until August 29.
