Forest department arrested poachers with arms in Hojai district

HOJAI: At least four alleged poachers along with arms were arrested by the Forest department on Wednesday evening in Lumding in Hojai district.

Owing to the zero-tolerance against rhino poaching and anti-poaching activities in the State, the Forest department arrested four poachers in Lumding on Wednesday evening along with arms. The arrested poachers were identified as Sanjit Chakma, Sukracharya Chakma, Jaybir Chakma and Sanjit Kumar Chakma.

Currently, they have been kept in the custody of the Forest department in Lanka under the Hojai district. The alleged poachers have been around the Lumding reserve forest for some time.
