Forest Minister Parimal Suklabaidya hands over cheques to poor patients

SILCHAR: Minister for Environment and Forest, Fisheries and Excise and MLA of Dholai, Parimal Suklabaidya handed over cheques to 21 patients under Borjalenga development block of Dholai constituency at a function held at Irongmara on Tuesday.

The cheques have been sanctioned from the Chief Minister's Special Relief Fund for the poor and needy patients of Borjalenga development block under Dholai constituency of Cachar district.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Suklabaidya said, "This has been made possible only due to the initiatives taken by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and these grants have been sanctioned from his relief fund."

Minister Suklabaidya further stated that cheques were distributed to 25 patients of Narsingpur development block and 21 patients from Palonghat development block. The minister also added that grants have already been given to students from financially weaker sections and to 91 poor patients of Dholai constituency and that he would continue to help economically backward classes of the society.

Minister Suklabaidya also expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for sanctioning financial assistance to the weaker segment of Dholai constituency.

Later, in a separate event, on behalf of Minister Suklabaidya, his representative handed over a cheque for Rs 50,000 to the family members of Kalachand Banik, a social worker of Jirighat of Lakhipur constituency, who has been ailing for long, stated a press release.
