Former ABSU President Pramod Boro selected as UPPL President

Bongaigaon: A meeting of central UPPL was held on Tuesday at Baganpara, Mushalpur of Baksa district. Talking to media persons, Maoti Hazoary, general secretary of UPPL, said that the main objective of organizing the meeting was to discuss the resolutions adopted in the delegate sitting held during the fourth conference of central UPPL at Bijni recently. Significantly, the policy-making body of UPPL was reshuffled and there were some changes in the central body of UPPL too.

"An important resolution adopted in the house was that an urgent meeting would be convened for selection of candidates very soon for the policy-making body of UPPL. The party president UG Brahma proposed for the appointment of former ABSU president Pramod Boro as the new president of UPPL in his place on health ground and other personal factors. The proposal was unanimously accepted in the house," he said.

UG Brahma also gave a statement, "To overcome the challenges of implementing BTR Accord or the 3rd Bodo Accord signed on January 27, 2020 in letter and spirit, Pramod Boro being one of the signatories should hold a bigger role and take up the president ship of UPPL. I have firm belief and confidence that in the forthcoming BTC election, UPPL will come out a winner to change the political dynamics of Bodoland Territorial Region." The UPPL has emerged as a formidable force and alternative political party to win the upcoming BTC election.
