

TANGLA: UPPL leader and vice president of Bhergaon chapter of United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) Govindo Debnath has resigned from the primary membership of the party. He had submitted his resignation letter citing personal inconvenience to the president and secretary of Udalguri district chapter of the UPPL weeks back which have purportedly been accepted by the party. He was an active member who vociferously campaigned for the party in the last BTC Council polls and had made large number of people join the party through campaigns and meetings in nook and corner of the Bodo belt. He was formerly vice president of All BTC Bengali Youth Student’s Federation. Sources said several party workers and booth level workers who have changed the fate of the party in the last BTC Council polls have been allegedly cornered by the party leadership and the party may witness fallout in grassroot level in the forthcoming days.
