Guwahati: The ministry of personnel, public grievances and pensions department of administrative reforms and public grievances has bestowed a Gold Award in Category I – "Excellence in Government Process Re-engineering for Digital Transformation" on Project "GOALMART," the brainchild of former Goalpara district deputy commissioner Varnali Deka.

GOALMART is a totally electronic market with the goal of providing an online platform for the marketing of SHG products from across the world.

Deka is the secretary of the Bodoland Territorial Council and the deputy commissioner of Kokrajhar. He is also the director of the Bodoland Administrative Staff College.

The UNDP praised her technique as having the potential to be replicated in other disadvantaged countries.

According to sources, the DARPG will host the 24th national conference on e-Governance in Hyderabad, Telangana, from January 7 to 8, 2022, in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) of the Government of India and the State Government of Telangana. Deka has been invited to attend the prize presentation. 

Deka has been invited as a key speaker for the session "Digital Excellence at the District Level," which will be held on January 8 at the same conference, in recognition of her efforts and achievements in the field of information technology.
