Former president of Golaghat district AXX passes away

SARUPATHAR: Former president of Golaghat district Xahitya Xabha and Sahitya Sabha Sarupathar branch, Chairman of Red Cross Society of Dhansiri district branch and a retired subject teacher of Sarupathar higher secondary school, Parsuram Tamuli breathed his last in the wee hours of Thursday at Dimapur Hospital in Nagaland. He was 78. He is survived by his wife, two sons and a host of relatives.

Parsuram Tamuli, a resident of Sarupathar in Golaghat district, was rushed to the Dimapur Hospital after he fell unconscious. Later he was tested positive for COVID-19. He was undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Meanwhile, the members of Axam Xahitya Xabha Sarupathar branch, members of Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) Golaghat district branch, Red Cross Society, Dhansiri district branch, teachers of various schools, and other functionaries paid their last tributes. Members of the Journalist Association from Dhansiri subdivision also paid their tribute. His last rites were performed at his Sarupathar residence on Thursday, the family informed. A member of Axam Xahitya Xabha Sarupathar branch said that the AXX flag will be flown at half-mast for three days to mourn his demise.
