Former Subdivisional Engineer, APDCL Dilip Nandi passes away in Doomdooma

DOOMDOOMA: Dilip Nandi, former Subdivisional Engineer (SDE), APDCL, Doomdooma Electrical Subdivision, passed away on Monday morning at his GD Chaudhury Road residence of the town. He was ailing for some time. He was 63 and is survived by his wife and one son.

Nandi was a very efficient officer of APDCL and took great pain and personal initiative at revenue collection. He was also well connected with a number of socio-cultural organizations. He was an executive member of Doomdooma Sakha Xahitya Xabha (DSXX), Special Patron, Doomdooma Asamiya Puja Aru Natya Mandir Xamiti, Doomdooma Namghar Samity, president, Doomdooma Bangiya Durgabari, adviser, All Assam Bengali Yuba-Chatra Federation, Doomdooma Anchalik Committee and also a good actor. He was very popular for his amiable disposition and helping attitude towards one and all.

While his body was taken out for cremation, floral tributes were paid to his mortal remains by APDCL, SDE office, Doomdooma Asamiya Puja Aru Natya Mandir Xamiti and Doomdooma Bangiya Durgabari. His death cast a pall of gloom in the town and was widely mourned.
